ADN Case Study: Residential Roof Extension

LOCATION: Crawley Down

Q1. What was originally asked for by the client?

A1. The client wanted us to build a roof for the extension he had built. It needed joists fitted, decking laid, insulation and weather proofing. We had to follow a detailed architectural plan. The roof also had a custom sized skylight to allow natural light into the room and this needed to be accommodated for in the roof construction.

Q2. What was found on closer inspection? Problems that came up etc?

A2. Being a new build, there are no unforeseeable problems. Everything that was initially predicted and estimated was correct.

Q3. Anything that ADN’s experience and ‘know how’ helped the situation and cut cost etc?

A3. With ADNs experience and trained workmen we were able to work within the parameters of the plans and execute the job swiftly and to the clients satisfaction.

Q4. How was the end result?

A4. The roof was fully complete and ready on schedule and within budget. Here is what the client had to say:

“We contacted ADN to ask for their advice and subsequently a quote to install the new roof as part of a large extension, the work included for a complicated detail for a roof lantern that we had specified as part of the project. The ADN team were easy to deal with right from the start, Mark & Charlie who did the work, did a very professional job creating the roof itself & lantern support structure; Mark is fastidious about attention detail and went to great lengths to ensure that everything not only was right, also that it looked right, putting forward his ideas & solution options to us, to get the best result. We are very happy with ADN and the completed roof speaks for itself”
